Madhya Pradesh plans to facilitate the process of regularising illegal colonies in the state. The rule to collect 50 per cent development charges from the residents of illegal colonies to regularise their tenements by upgrading infrastructure, was burdening occupants of such localities.
The remaining 50 per cent expenditure for regularising colonies was borne by civic bodies and the state government. The government now plans to collect only 20 per cent development charges from the occupants for regularising their localities.
