Winning the Steel Minister´s Trophy twice, during 2007-08 and 2011-12, JSW Steel triumphed once again by receiving the Prime Minister´s trophy for ´Best Integrated Steel Plant´ for year the 2012-2013. Sajjan Jindal, Chairman and Managing Director, JSW Steel, is jubilant to the Vijayanagar plant of JSW Steel receive the annually awarded prize, which carries a trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 2 crore. The award given out based on overall performance and a range of criterion covering operational, financial, market, export, quality, customer satisfaction, environment and human resource related parameters. The Vijayanagar facility is the first integrated steel plant in the country to produce 10 million tonne of steel from a single location and was appreciated by the judging panel for its technical excellence. Feeling proud and rightly too, the award reinforces Jindal´s commitment to pursue excellence in all endeavours and will help in setting benchmarks in efficiency and practices. It appears that Jindal has made it an practise of winning awards, and many more can be expected in the future as well. Congratulations!
