Incorporated in 1979, NCL Industries commenced its activities with a cement business of 66,000 tonne per annum in 1984, which has been expanded to 2 million tonne in several phases. The company is operating in the Cement Bonded Particle Boards (Bison Panel), Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) and Hydropower segments. While 75-80 per cent of its revenues are from the cement business, the sales distribution is in AP and TS states. ´Market penetration and market expansion were the main strategies adopted in 2015-16,´says K Ravi, Managing Director, NCL Industries. Focusing on the markets in neighbouring states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka has yielded good results in both capacity utilisation and top-line incremental. ´Sustained cost reduction efforts, particularly in power and coal costs, have contributed significantly to the bottom line.´ Better sales volumes of cement, boards and RMC coupled with improved realisations have made substantial contributions to the company´s growth. It is further expanding production capacities in cement, cement-bonded particle boards (Bison Panel) and the RMC businesses, which should be ready for operation by the end of FY2017. This year, the company will focus on untapped potential markets and intensify existing distribution channels where its products have been well-received.
