The DUDA (District urban development agency) of Allahabad suggested three projects for construction of houses for the slum dwellers in the city. These three projects would be constructed at Haiza Hospital, Badi Bagiya and Qutubkhana. For the benefit of slum dwellers, the three projects envisages construction of about 359 houses.
DUDA suggested these projects at an executive council meeting of the Allahabad Municipal Corporation. The meeting, which was also attended by Jal Nigam, was held to discuss the Rajiv Gandhi Awas Yojna for rehabilitating the slum dwellers of the city.
During the meeting, DUDA received a request from the members of executive council to suggest more such projects for rehabilitation of slum dwellers so that they could cover more beneficiaries.
Participating in the discussion, member of the executive council and senior corporator Shiv Sewak Singh observed that officers of DUDA should perform survey at the grassroot level for the projects.
