At a high-level joint meeting of Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) and HUDCO, it was decided that the former would rope in the latter for consultancy services for the proposed Integrated Housing and Commercial Centre (ICC).
The state government notified around 1,500 kanals of land at Railhead Nowgam for the proposed project which envisages integrated development of the Railhead for various activities including housing, hotels, motels, restaurants.
Reports indicate that HUDCO would offer consultancy and funding for the project which also includes shopping plazas, office spaces, school, hospital, multi-level parking, recreational facilities and various other services.
The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Vice-Chairman SDA, Muhammad Shafi Rather.
Meanwhile, as part of the concept of promoting vertical housing in Srinagar, SDA plans to construct around 500 residential flats – Shehjar Apartments - at Bemina. HUDCO would provide financing for this project as well.
It will be the first planned vertical housing colony in Srinagar with integrated community facilities including parking, recreational areas, banquet hall and sports avenues.
