K Raheja Corp has won ‘The Green Apple – Environmental Best Practice Awards, UK’, for its commercial property – Mindspace Building No. 6, Hyderabad. Further, it could also progress to represent India in the Green World Awards and the European Business Awards for the Environment.
Mindspace, a Business Park, has been meticulously conceived and fabricated to have minimal environmental impact. Building No. 6 is the second largest LEED NC Platinum-rated building in India in terms of built-up area. The honour is an outcome of the practice, which includes the adoption of high-efficiency energy conservation measures in the HVAC systems, resulting in energy-efficiency and reduction on CO2 – Green House Gas.
The company has bagged this coveted title over more than 500 other global nominations. The Green Apple Awards, an initiative of the Global Green Organization, was conceptualised as an annual campaign to honour and reward individuals, organisations and communities that actively help protect the environment and acknowledge the best promoting environment practices around the world.
Shabbir Kanchwala, Senior Vice President, K Raheja Corp, says “K Raheja Corp remains committed towards consistent and enduring initiatives for sustainability in India. We have a green building footprint of nearly 3.5 crore sq ft across India, and we do widespread work in this field. We are proud to be recognised by the extremely credible Green Apple Award amid world-class contemporaries. This award further fortifies our intent and commitment to the green cause.”
With all projects LEED-certified, K Raheja Corp has come to stay focused on ‘High-performance and ecologically sensitive building outcomes’.
