Universal Construction Machinery and Equipment has plans to set up a R&D centre in Pune, with a total investment of Rs 6 crore to develop new products. The project plans to focus on exports to beat the slowdown in the Indian market. The Pune-based company has about 50 products in its portfolio with four verticals catering to mechanisation, concreting, material handling and processes. It also has two manufacturing units in Pune and Satara in Maharashtra and one in Rudrapur in Uttaranchal.
