NCC is one of the largest Indian construction companies in terms of revenue. The company´s size and scale helps it to pre-qualify for larger size projects. It has established a presence across all the major business segments in construction, such as building and housing, road, oil and gas, water and environment, irrigation, railway, power, electrical, metal and mining. Moreover, NCC has a presence in Oman and the UAE through its subsidiaries.
Currently, the company is executing around 200 projects across India and the Middle East. It has demonstrated theability to bid for and win large projects such as UP Expressways Development Authority project worth Rs 1,674.8 crore; construction of Batinah Expressway Road Project worth Rs 2,287.6 crore; UPHB, Lucknow project worth Rs 546.5 crore; and Telangana Drinking Water Supply project worth Rs 239.3 crore. During the year under review, the company´s consolidated turnover jumped by 27.5 per cent to Rs 9,497 crore as against Rs 7,448 crore in the previous fiscal. The bottom-line jumped by around six times of Rs 61.5 crore as against Rs 10.35 crore in the previous year. In FY15, NCC bagged orders worth Rs 7,381 crore and executed projects worth Rs 9,014 crore. The order book position as on March 31, 2015, stood at Rs 19,323 crore, ie, book to bill ratio of 2.3x.
