In addition to exhibits, CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE 2017 is offering in-depth industry education with a record number of sessions. The show also has a more efficient layout. It spans across a record of more than 2,500,000 net sq ft exhibit space (232,000 m) with 2,500-plus exhibitors expected.
The Tech Experience - see the future now
The new 75,000-plus sq ft (6,900 sq m) Tech Experience is showcasing ideas and technologies that will transform the future of construction to enhance safety, productivity and profitability. It is designed as an engaging experience that will bring to life the trends and solutions that are developing now and emerging in the next several years for the jobsite, workforce and infrastructure. Also featured is a Tech Talks educational forum and the Infrastructure Vision 2050 initiative of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).
Unveiling the first 3D printed construction excavator
As part of the Tech Experience, CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE 2017 have teamed up to unveil the world´s first fully-functional 3D printed construction excavator and the first large-scale use of steel in 3D printing, known as additive manufacturing. The excavator, on display at the joint trade shows, bring to life how technology is transforming the construction industry in line with the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017 theme,´Imagine What´s Next.´ In addition to the pre-printed excavator, attendees are also able to view a demonstration of the 3D printing technology.
Education to succeed
The show is further offering a record number of 150-plus education sessions, including a new Technology track, to provide attendees with the latest industry knowledge and best practices to improve their professional skills and company productivity. The new track focuses on industry innovations and future growth opportunities in the technology field, including drones, autonomous machines, 3D imaging, smart apps, gamification, big data and IoT. It complements the new Tech Experience, showcasing the ideas and technologies that will transform construction in the future. Gold Lot G4416, Goldhofer is presenting its two big attractions: A 6-axle ADDRIVE with three self propelled axle lines and an STZ-P 9 (3+3+3) AA low loader semitrailer for use on North American highways. The company is also showcasing its THP/DC Dual Lane solution, which has now reached the production stage.
Key features of the ADDRIVE: With its enormous versatility and wide range of potential applications, this switchable drive optimises working with heavy-duty modules - whether they are operated as towed modules or as self-propelled modular transporters. That means greater efficiency in terms of fleet management, since ADDRIVE offers greater flexibility and improved economics.
The attractions of the system includes efficient vehicle mobilisation and fast and easy reduction of the overall weight.
The semitrailers: For years, the semitrailers in Goldhofer´s STZ-P series have proven themselves as reliable partners in the heavy haulage industry. With swing-axle technology, maximum frame strength and extendible decks plus a choice of vehicle widths and various wheelbases, these semi lowloaders set the standard. The STZ-P 9 (3+3+3) AA is also extendible between the bogies to comply with US regulations regarding axle spacing.
