CTBUH Announces Award of Excellence Winners for Annual Awards Programme

December 2019

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has announced the Award of Excellence Winners for the CTBUH 2020 Awards Programme. The winning projects represent the best tall buildings, urban contributions, technologies, and innovations emerging recently in cities around the world.

Winners were selected across a variety of categories, with projects in the “Best Tall Building” track falling into five height thresholds (i.e., under 100 m, 100-199 m, 200-299 m, 300-399 m, and 400 m and above). Additional categories include: Urban habitat, renovation, interior space, and construction, alongside five categories focused specifically on engineering achievements.

“This year’s Award of Excellence Winners communicate the diversity of interdisciplinary thought and innovation that will characterise both current and future generations of urban development around the world,” said Best Tall Building Jury Chair Karl Fender, Director at Fender Katsalidis Architects. “These recognitions, bestowed by the world’s premier authority on tall buildings, showcase these projects to a global audience and help drive a meaningful conversation about the quality of our urban environments.”

The Award of Excellence Winners will now move on to the next stage of the CTBUH Awards Programme, sending the owner/developers and design/engineer teams for the projects to the CTBUH 2020 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference, where they will compete in front of an international audience and live juries for ‘Best in Category’ distinctions. The event will conclude with the announcement of the ‘2020 Best Tall Building Worldwide’.

CTBUH is the world’s leading resource for professionals focused on the inception, design, construction, and operation of tall buildings and future cities.
