The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has invited bids for civil works for the 17-km Outer Ring Road (ORR) line that passes through the city linking KR Puram to Silk Board. The bids have been invited from infrastructure firms for the construction of viaducts and 13 stations on the elevated section in three packages under Phase-2A of the Namma Metro project.
Under Package-1, bids have been invited for the Silk Board-Iblur Junction (four stations) covering 7 km stretch at an estimated Rs 427 crore. In the second package, Bellandur to ISRO Layout (five stations) with an elevated line of 6 km would reportedly cost around Rs 416 crore. The final package – Doddannekkundi Station to KR Puram Interchange Station (four stations) – spanning around 6 km is estimated to cost about Rs 386 crore.
The estimated cost of the 17 km ORR line is reportedly around Rs 4,202 crore, as mentioned in the DPR. It will have 13 stations; these include KR Puram (interchange station), Mahadevapura, DRDO Sports Complex, Doddannekkundi, ISRO, Marathahalli, Kodibisanahalli, Kadubeesanahalli, Bellandur, Iblur, Agara Lake, HSR Layout and Silk Board (interchange). As reported, the tender procedures are likely to be completed by April-end.
