The widening of the Kundapur-Talapady national highway project in Mangalore, which is one-and-half years behind schedule is expected to resume soon. Navayuga Udupi Tollway Pvt Ltd (NUTPL), a subsidiary of Hyderabad-based Navayuga-KPCL Consortium, which had bagged the contract, had stopped the work for more than six months ago due to financial crises.
Karnataka Power Corporation (KPCL) plans to conduct a international competitive bidding process to select a company for the supply of up to 1 mnmtpa of liquid natural gas (LNG). KPCL requires LNG in order to fuel its upcoming 700 MW gas-based combined cycle power project at Bidadi near Bengaluru. The project is estimated to cost Rs 2,500 crore.
