Established in 1965, Engineers India Ltd (EIL) provides engineering consultancy and EPC services principally focused on the oil and gas and petrochemical industries. Subsidiaries and JVs EIL has two subsidiaries - Certification Engineers International Ltd (CEIL), providing services in the field of certification, re-certification, third party inspection services and EIL Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd (EILAP), Malaysia primarily engaged in the business of providing technical services for projects in oil and gas and other industrial sectors. The Company has also established two JVs - TEIL Projects with Tata Projects for pursuing projects in oil and gas, fertilisers, steel, railways, power, infrastructure and Jabal EILIOT, a JV between Jabal Dhahran Company of Saudi Arabia; EIL, India and IOT Infrastructure and Energy Services Ltd to pursue business opportunities in hydrocarbon and infrastructure sector in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Research and development EIL is a technology driven organisation which believes that investment in technology is imperative for maintaining its position. The company has established a research and development centre in Gurgaon and the R&D division is pursuing technology development both in-house and in collaboration with other organisations like IOCL, BPCL, IIP, CHT, HPCL, CPCL, NRL, etc. It has also developed process technologies with a portfolio including various technologies for petroleum refining, oil and gas processing and aromatics. As of March 31, 2013, EIL holds 13 patents and has 17 pending patent applications relating to various process technologies.
International footprints The company has leveraged its track record to expand its operations internationally. It has executed projects in several countries of the Middle East, North Africa and South East Asia including Algeria, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and UAE.
