Cement capacity to increase by 110 mn tonne in 3 years

According to the Cement Manufacturers' Association, about 110 mn tonne of cement capacity will be added at an investment of Rs 50,000 crore in the next three years. Cement companies in India have witnessed strong volume growth in the first half of the current fiscal. The Aditya Birla Group cement shipments in December rose 10.5 per cent. Ambuja Cements witnessed a 4 per cent rise in dispatch to 17.29 lakh tonne in December, compared with a year-ago period.
