The shutting down of cement plants in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have led to poor demands and un-remunerative prices. Accounting for nearly 25 per cent of India´s limestone reserves, one of the plants to shut down is Panyam Cements´ 0.4 MT per year capacity cement plant in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh. Nevertheless,it opened shop in 10 days after being shut down. With absolutely zero demand in South India, India Cements has reported a US$493,340 net loss for the quarter ended on June 30, 2014.
