Cement sector may add more capacity in 2013

The cement industry, which has a production capacity of 324 mtpa, may witness further capacity addition of 30-40 mtpa as some of the projects slated for completion in 2012 got delayed and will now go on stream in 2013. For instance, ABG Shipyard’s 3.3 mtpa project at Kutch in Gujarat and Century Textiles’ 2.5 mtpa plant at Chandrapur in Maharashtra may complete during the year.
