The limestone mining project of Dalmia Cement has been opposed by farmers in the Yadawad village in Karnataka. According to a memorandum in 2010, the government had given permission to the company to buy 497 acre in Yadawad village to set up the plant through Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board the board. Later, the government extended this permission to 1,598 acre and KIADB is acquiring the land. So far, KIADB has acquired 1,086 acre in the area.
