We are now at the next tryst with destiny

ATUL TANDAN, Chairman, ASAPP Media, feels the industry can grow multifold with the Make in India´ credo. ´Taking into account the energy dispensation the current government brings, India has once again come to reckon in the global environment. It signifies that we in media can bring information and awareness of what is going to happen as 100 smart cities get built. Educational institutions, commercial establishments and housing requirements will be constructed as more people desire a better quality of life. Many areas will open up for the ´Make in India´ credo to happen and will bring industrial development that will serve the infrastructure industry. Macroeconomic and policy uncertainties will continue to remain to some degree, inflation may persist and liquidation conditions may always see excitement, but I believe we will see an enormous surge in economic development. The Environment Ministry has cleared 50 projects worth Rs 200,000 crore. The market holds great potential. In a time when the expenses of the government are restricted by the state of its own finances, legitimate partnership-seeking public-private partnerships or opening up the Railways for 100 per cent FDI or inviting partnerships from private industry in the defence establishment, will make this country achieve what it can. In 1800, India and China owned half of the world GDP and India´s contribution was higher than China. Currently, India is at an inflection point of combined forces like youth, education, good governance and access to the right source of collaboration and partnerships.
