New facility to help Caterpillar meet demand

As part of its plan to en­hance local production capabilities, Caterpillar India set up its fourth backhoe loader manufacturing facility in Thiruvallur near Chennai. This will enable the company to meet the demand for backhoe loaders, which has been gaining traction with the construction equipment industry growing at a rate of about 15-20 per cent per annum.The facility will also strengthen Caterpillar's presence in India and augment its distribution channel for the earth-moving machine.Contact: Caterpillar India.
