UCMEL plans for Rs 60 cr expansion

Universal Construction Machinery & Equipment (UCMEL), a Pune-based construction equipment manufacturer, plans to spend Rs 60 crore for expanding its production capacity in the next 12 to 18 months. It is planning to launch a new product called Elevator, which is a special purpose lift. It manufactures 67 products at its four state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities–three located near Pune and at Rudrapur in Uttaranchal. UCMEL controls 70 per cent of the domestic market for its flagship products. The company also plans to invest Rs 30 crore for the expansion of its Rudrapur facility.
