INDEX fair echoed a progressive shift for the interiors, architecture and design industry.The first edition in Delhi of one of India's leading international interiors, architecture and design show, INDEX by UMG Index Fairs (August 2-4) successfully concluded in Delhi. The fair was inaugurated by Adwaita Gadanayak, Director-General, National Gallery of Modern Art; Ramon S Bagatsing Jr, Ambassador, Embassy of The Republic of Philippines, New Delhi; Syed Muazzem Ali, High Commissioner, Bangladesh High Commission, New Delhi; Alfonso Coca Sanchez, Trade Advisor, Consulate General of Spain-Economic & Commercial Office, Mumbai; Gurpreet Singh, Director, Aakar Design Consultants; Shamit Manchanda, Chairman, Indian Institute of Architects, North India, Haryana Chapter; Jamshed Mistry, Founder, International Legal Alliance, amid an august industry gathering.In attendanceThe three day fair witnessed international participations from China, Bangladesh, Czech Republic, Russia and Poland among others. Leading architects and designers, international and domestic buyer delegations, builders and developers from across the country attended the fair.Speaking on the successful completion of the fair Liyakat Ali Khan, Managing Director, UMG Index Tradefairs, said, “We are very happy to close our first edition of INDEX Fair at Delhi on a high note, being the organisers of one of the most effective trade fairs in the industry for interiors, architecture and designing; bathroom and kitchen; building and construction; furnishings and décor; furniture, etc. Various industry stakeholders have showcased their innovative technologies at this fair, presenting to us one of the best ways to choose latest technologies for all our future designs.”Eventful gatheringThe fair was marked by knowledge forums with content-rich sessions, networking and meeting with dealers, manufacturers, builders, architects and traders from India and abroad. The platform, which also provided opportunities, that included prefixed B2B meetings, witnessed spectacular Indian designs at the India Design Pavilion, experienced amazing art at the Aura Art Enclave and a wide range of kitchen appliances and full kitchens explored the potential for direct business with India’s leading office furniture manufacturers, product demos and launches, and India's leading office furniture manufacturers and importers added value to the show. The fair was supported by Jodhpur Handicrafts Exporters’ Association (JHEA), HPMF (Hospitality Purchasing Manager's Forum), NAREDCO (National Real Estate Development Council), ADI (Association of Designers of India), RHMA (Rajkot Hardware Manufacturers Association), AGNI (Association of Global Nicmarians), AIWA (All India Wallpaper Covering Association) and Aura Art Development.
