The country special session on India was among the top 10 most attended events at bauma 2019 in Munich.In principle, the Indian industry has great potential for Germany, especially in areas of manufacturing, infrastructure and energy, which are major growth sectors in India. A great deal of perseverance is needed, until talks and discussions come to a successful end. Perhaps new developments in terms of technology and business models will give fresh impetus to Indo-German relations in the raw materials industry.India specialDuring bauma 2019 in Munich, a country special session on India, the India Day Symposium, was organised by the VDMA Mining and VDMA India on April 10, 2019, at the bauma forum in Hall C2. The session offered the next good opportunity to sound out new perspectives for new business.  Guest of honourSugandh Rajaram, Consul General of India in Munich, was present as the chief guest. A delegation from the Singareni Collieries Co (SCCL), the second largest coal producer in India, headed by N Sridhar, Chairman and Managing Director, SCCL, also attended the symposium, where he made a presentation on Development of Coal Industry in India.Also, a 45-member delegation of the Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (ICEMA), led by its President Arvind K Garg, and  Vice President Sandeep Singh, joined the symposium. Garg made a presentation on Construction Equipment Market in India and Future Trends. Panel discussionRajesh Nath, Managing Director, VDMA India, moderated a panel discussion on India: An Important Market for the Machinery Industry – Opportunities and Challenges.The panelists who participated were Dr Michael Schulte Strathaus, Schulte Strathaus GmbH & Co KG; Henning Ranft, Product Manager Mining, Wirtgen GmbH; Nitin Garg, Director-Business Development, Herrenknecht India; N Sridhar, Chairman and Managing Director, SCCL; MV Rajasekhar, Executive Director-Marketing, BEML; Sandeep Singh, Managing Director, Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery.The symposium received an overwhelming response and was among the top 10 most attended events at the bauma forum.(Communication by the management of the company)
