With 430 outlets across India, 27,000 units sold and a capacity to produce 29,000 machines per annum, JCB India Ltd, under its parent firm, JCB, UK, has earned itself a sterling reputation as a leading manufacturer of construction equipment. The company’s Ballabgarh facility in Haryana, has the distinction of being the world’s largest backhoe loader plant.

Under the formidable support of its parent firm, JC Bamford Excavators (UK), JCB India marched the path of progress and is the leading manufacturer of construction equipment in India. JCB India, started operations in 1979 as a JV company but its parent firm JCB, UK, bought 100 per cent stake in the JV in 2003. The company manufactures earthmoving and construction equipment in India.

The Ballabgarh (Haryana) based firm supplies 21 different machines in seven product types such as backhoe loaders, loading shovels, tracked excavators, compactors, telehandlers, skid steer loaders and pick and carry crane. In Pune, it has two manufacturing facilities comprising fabrication and heavy line equipment.

The company offers sales support to its machines through over 430 outlets across India with trained service engineers.

Besides, it has a network of 54 dealers throughout the country and also runs operator training schools with over 15,000 operators trained till date.

Last year, Jammu and Kashmir Bank entered into an agreement with JCB India, to extend loans to JCB equipment buyers under J&K Bank Construction Equipment Finance scheme. Recently, the company launched the all new JCB 3DX Backhoe Loader which delivers better performance in excavation, at a 20 per cent lower fuel consumption. In 2011-12, the company sold 27,000 units compared to around 21,000 in the previous year. Although the company caters mainly to the domestic market, its products have found buyers abroad especially in Indonesia.
