Our machines help save carbon footprint as well as diesel

The Atlas Copco Construction Technique business area provides construction and demolition tools, portable compressors, pumps and generators, lighting towers, and compaction and paving equipment. Nitin Lall, General Manager, Atlas Copco Construction Technique, shares more on the company’s products in conversation with SHANKAR SRIVASTAVA and SHRIYAL SETHUMADHAVAN.

Have you launched any new equipment at Excon?
We have already launched few products but for the first time have showcased them on a larger platform through Excon. So we will launch a new roller CC425 from Dynapac range of Atlas Copco road construction equipment, and coinciding with the prime minister’s vision of ‘Make in India’, we have launched a baby roller from the Indian manufacturing facility. We have also launched generators.

Where do you see the opportunity for you as manufacturers?
Our products are closely associated with all infrastructure jobs. But the prime driver in India would be roads. If activities happen in roads, Atlas Copco Construction Technique has products allied to that.

Do you offer any training facilities?
Atlas Copco has a strong training calendar throughout the year. We do this in various places but our hub remains Chakan, Pune and Nasik.

Working in a dusty environment is highly in the DNA for Atlas Copco…
All products are supposed to work in extremely dusty environment and therefore designed accordingly. We have machines, which are better on fuel economy, help save carbon footprint as well as diesel. The company pays special attention on reducing sound pollution therefore we have very stringent standards to match the best norms within India and also the globe. The equipment can therefore work perfectly in sites like quarrying & mining, construction areas as well as our neighborhood where people stay.
