l The all-women Coimbatore plant of Kirloskar Brothers Ltd (KBL) was recently awarded the ´Gold Award´ for its advancement in the area of Science and Technology at Assocham´s 3rd Innovation Excellence Awards 2014. Dr RV Raj Kuumar, Divisional Head-Coimbatore plant, KBL, received the coveted award from Lt Gen Anil Chait, Ministry of Defence at the national Assocham India summit in Delhi. l Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) recently bagged the ´Cisco Technology Award´ for building India´s first smart city with best-in-class sustainability features and technologies. It was also awarded the ´Smart City of the Future´ award, an accolade that recognises outstanding organisational contributions in driving change with the assistance of technology. l SKF India Ltd recently bagged the ´Best bearings company for 2013´ for the eighth consecutive year at the Dun & Bradstreet Corporate Awards 2014.The event was held in Mumbai on May 28, 2014. Dun & Bradstreet felicitated top companies across various sectors for their contribution to the Indian economy.
