AP likely to get Rs 400.81 cr for its road projects

The Union government is likely to approve rural road project proposals of Rs 400.81 crore for 138 road works in Andhra Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh on January 16 informed this to the State Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy through a letter.

The Union Minister said these proposals for the 138 road works across three districts have been discussed and recommended by the Pre-Empowered Committee in its meeting held on January 7. He conveyed that these road projects spanning 660.95 km are located in the districts of Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and Warangal.

The road project proposals are in the final stages of securing nod from the Union Government. Now the empowered committee will meet and approve the proposals, the Minister said.
