Coimbatore corporation ropes in firm for study on drain project
Coimbatore Municipal Corporation roped in Suncon Engineers, the Pune-based engineering company, for conducting a study for constructing storm water drain in added areas of the city.
The Pune-based firm would co-ordinate with Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services to execute the task.
The company would conduct the study over a period of eight months covering as much as 151 sq km area. Following the study, a detailed project report would be prepared.
The drain would run for a distance of approximately 750 km in the area that is under consideration. After the survey has been conducted in the specified area, the Coimbatore Corporation would place the draft report before the public, non-government organisations and experts for their opinion.
The contract-company would be asked to prepare the final report after taking into considerations the suggestions of the public and other stakeholders.
