DDA proposes modifications in MPD
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) proposed 25 modifications in the Delhi Master Plan (MPD) 2021 to the Urban Development Ministry for final notification and it is also processing another 64 modifications.
The authority intends to finalise the plan by the end of this year by making at least 100 modifications, reports indicate.
The authority is also in the process of adding a new chapter in the MPD-2021 on transit-oriented development and the chapter on environment is also being re-drafted.
Besides, this, the authority has also processed the policies for motels, multi-disciplinary clinics for persons with learning disability and farmhouses in Delhi. The policies for temporary cinemas, modifications in floor area ratio and ground coverage in hospitals and public-private participation in land assembly development have been processed and are at various stages of finalisation. Some of these, such as policies for motels and farmhouses have already been notified.
Delhities made a total of 4,294 suggestions with emphasis on public participation in the Master Plan review process. Discussions were held in six open houses. About 2,310 suggestions have been discussed in management actions group and an additional 709 are in the process of being discussed, some reports indicate.
Various management action groups have reportedly held around 39 meetings to discuss relevant suggestions and their recommendations were put up in the nine meetings of the advisory group headed by the Lieutenant-Governor.
