Emami to take up cement production
Kolkata-based Emami, which is into healthcare and personal care segments, is to invest nearly Rs 1,000 crore in cement and healthcare business in West Bengal over the next two-three years. To set up a cement grinding unit, which will be linked to a cement clinker unit in Chhattishgarh, the diversified group will invest nearly Rs 500 crore.
The company is looking at a cement capacity of 4 million tonne, while another Rs 450-Rs 500 crore will be invested in putting up a state-of-the-art hospital at Rajarhat.
For the current fiscal itself, Emani has drawn up a Capex of Rs 100 crore with particular focus on healthcare and personal care segments. it is also exploring to enter household care segments like mosquito coil.
