More than 275 qualification documents downloaded and still counting…

Mumbai, December 5, 2011 – The invitation for Mumbai Trans Harbour Link qualification bids has drawn huge response from Indian and International players. Within less than a fortnight of the invitation the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), more than 275 qualification bids have been downloaded and the number is only growing. The pre-application conference is scheduled on December 14, 2011.

Various conglomerates from United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, Korea, Denmark, Poland, Portugal, Egypt, Spain, Sharjah and Vancouver along with number of Indian corporates have shown keen interest in the ambitious project that is set to change the way city travels today. "The response is very encouraging and we are looking forward to meeting the players with their queries and suggestions", said Mr.Rahul Asthana, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA.

The 22 km long Link connects Sewri in the island city to Nhava in Navi Mumbai. With interchanges at Sewri to connect to Eastern Freeway and at Chirle to connect to the NH 4B quick dispersal would facilitate faster commuting saving all-important fuel.

A few of the International corporates attracted by the longest sea bridge yet in the country are – Foster + Partners, Hewson Consulting Engineers (UK), Bloom Companies, LLC, Modjeski and Masters, Ammann & Whitney, (all USA), Seoyeong Engineering, Yongma Engineering Co. Ltd, GS Engineering & Construction Corp. (all Korea), McMillan LLP, Fasken Martineau LLP (both Canada), MT Højgaard A/S, Denmark; Cassiopeia, PPP projects Engineers & Officers, Poland; Andrade Gutierrez, Portugal; Orascom Construction Industries, Egypt; SNC Lavalin, Vancouver; General, Sharjah; Iridium Concesiones de Infraestructuras, S.A. Spain.
