MIDC begins work along Trans-Thane Creek

The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has initiated the concreting of the 22 km internal roads, along with works on the storm water drains, effluent collection pipelines, footpaths, duct lines for utility services and streetlights, along the Trans-Thane Creek (TTC) corridor in Rabale, Mahape and Turbhe areas in Maharashtra. As per reports, Rs 231 crore has been assigned for these works, which are expected to go on for two years. All the works are expected to be carried out simultaneously.

MIDC was favoured over the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation for the makeover plan. The target set by MIDC is the end of 2019. The development corporation will square up the expenditure through service charges from industries over the next 20-25 years. After the concrete work has been done by MIDC, NMMC will reportedly take over the other maintenance work.
