Plea for foot hill road from Dimapur to Tizit in Nagaland

In Nagaland, the Lotha Lower Range Public Organisation (LLRPO), Bhandari, has expressed the need to construct a foot hill road from Dimapur to Tizit (Mon), stating it will be lifeline for Naga general public and particularly the neighbouring districts of Dimapur, Wokha, Mokokchung, Longleng, and Mon. Stating it had been vocal for the last four years regarding the issue, LLRPO urged upon all the newly elected legislatures, particularly of Dimapur, Wokha, Mokokchung, Longleng, and Mon to constitute a committee to look into the matter at the earliest.

LLRPO president Yingashumo Kithan, in a press release, lamented that Nagaland has had no foothill road since its statehood because of which Assam – Nagaland border people of Nagaland have been suffering and experiencing many forms of harassment, sometimes resulting in loss of lives and properties during bandh and strike periods while passing through Assam.

Affirming that no Naga organisation has come forward in the past in support of the foot hill road construction even when LLRPO had been vocal, it stated it was high time for Naga people in general and the people of bordering districts in particular to join hands to move to the Government of Nagaland for time bound construction of foothill road of 'our own'.
