The Ministry of Defence has given a green signal to the Maharashtra Government to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) of the proposed international airport near Pune city. As reported, German company Dorsch is working on the preparation of the DPR and will also develop the new airport at Purandar in Pune district.

The estimated cost of the airport is Rs 14,000 crore, however, the actual cost of the airport will be known after the report is completed.
