Resurfacing of Aizawl roads in progress

According to the Mizoram PWD sources, resurfacing work beginning from Bawngkawn Traffic Point in Aizawl is in progress towards Buichali via Sairang and the work is going on near Rangvamual on January 25.

The road repairing work is taken up by a contractor under 'Aizawl Road, North Division' of Mizoram PWD, say reports. A high-level Monitoring & Supervision Committee called a meeting on January 24, headed by UD&PA Secretary RL Rinawma asked all the work agencies in the city to complete the road repairing and resurfacing work within the next financial year, which ends on March 31.

Rinawma also added that the fund for the town road repair provided from JNNURM scheme is also to end by the said date. Repair and resurfacing of a portion of the National Highway 54 between Bawngkawn and Buichali is reportedly progressing well.
