The New Portmax PM 90 Tire debuts at Bauma 2016

The latest novelty in BKT’s tire lineup for port logistics applications, the radial Portmax PM 90, specially designed for reach stackers, makes its debut in Munich at the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment. All spotlights are turned on Bauma 2016, the perfect occasion for BKT to present the latest product novelties for port logistics: among these the brand new Portmax PM 90, an All Steel radial tire, with multi-ply steel belts, specially designed for reach stackers in container handling operations in port areas. Strength, resistance and durability are the key features of this tire that ensures maximum stability, an essential requirement in heavy load handling operations. The steel-belted All Steel casing provides extraordinary strength and an excellent load distribution on the supporting surface - distinctive features making Portmax PM 90 an industrial handling tire par excellence. For this specific tire, BKT has developed a special tread compound, which extends the product life-cycle as it is particularly resistant against impacts, cuts and wear. As a result, Portmax PM 90 needs to be replaced less frequently. Moreover, the low rolling resistance helps to significantly reduce fuel consumption resulting in cost savings ­- a brilliant example of sustainability in the intermodal transport sector. Portmax PM 90 will be displayed in the size 18.00 R 25 at BAUMA 2016, at the BKT stand (Hall A6, Stand 225).
