With SN Subrahmanyan as the CEO and Managing Director of Larsen and Turbo (L&T), the company’s construction arm has bagged the order for developing the upcoming international airport at Navi Mumbai. Under Subrahmanyan, the construction conglomerate is set to undertake key developmental works for the airport, which include cut and fill works, terminal works, airfield development works, landside facilities (roads, multilevel car parking), utilities and support facilities. The value of the contract is estimated to be between Rs..50-70 billion; as per the company’s classification of contracts it falls in the ‘major’ category. Having built a large number of prominent international airports in the country, bagging this order reaffirms Subrahmanyan’s vision for L&T – to become the leading name for developing airport infrastructure.
