Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani ended the year 2014 with a bang. The School of Planning and Architecture Bill 2014 has been passed by both houses of Parliament. Irani deserves plaudits as the bill was passed when the Opposition was determined to stall proceedings. The three existing SPAs in New Delhi, Bhopal and Vijayawada will enjoy international tie-ups and play host to global experts to impart world class education in the institutions. On the anvil, are plans to facilitate resumption for Eighth Standard dropouts.
