Development Drive
That Adi Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group, believes in creating value in whatever he does is no news. No sooner was he appointed the new President of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Godrej took the bull by its horns by chalking out an extensive development plan across India, and indeed, the world. This includes visits to State capitals, chief ministers, CII members, etc, to execute various development initiatives. His first trip to Pakistan aimed at improving bilateral relations between the two countries. “There should be much greater economic cooperation between India and Pakistan,” he believes. Next on his calendar, is a visit to Japan to find ways of improving business ties with the country. This will encourage Japan to initiate several projects in India, including the hi-speed rail and highway projects between Chennai and Bengaluru, besides a Japanese township also being planned in Karnataka.
