<span style="font-weight: bold;">Sandeep Garg, Managing Director &amp; CEO, Welspun Enterprises,</span> has all reasons to pride. His company recently commissioned Package-I of the country's much awaited controlled-access expressway, the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, in a record 16 months. That too, this is against its original scheduled completion period of 30 months. The expressway, which aims to provide a fast link between Delhi and Meerut, is also notably the first project under the hybrid annuity model (HAM). <br /> The Rs 9.5-billion commissioned Package-I of the project - from Nizamuddin Bridge to the Uttar Pradesh border - has a total length of 8.716 km and boasts of being India's first 14-lane highway project, with a six-lane expressway in the centre and <br /> an eight-lane highway (four lanes on each side). As Garg says: 'Welspun Enterprises was awarded the Package-I in January 2016 and completed it in March 2018, a record 16 months - 14 months ahead of schedule - which is in itself is a benchmark.' Indeed!<br />
