National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has a new Chairman. Yudhvir Singh Malik has taken over Raghav Chandra to head the authority, which plans to undertake highway construction works of around Rs 70,000 crore. The Haryana cadre IAS officer was earlier posted as special secretary in . With NHAI´s plan to build 50,000 km of road worth Rs 17 lakh crore over the next five to six years, Malik has a huge task at his hands. What´s more, besides meeting the target for the current fiscal, he is also assigned with the task to get the commence work on the Delhi-Meerut expressway. While in the current fiscal, MoRTH and NHAI have set a target of awarding 25,000 km of road projects, we await to hear the big plans of the new chairman!
