Projects stuck due to power shortage now have a reason to smile. Welspun Energy, led by Vineet Mittal, Co-founder and Managing Director, has set up Asia's largest solar power project in Rajasthan. This utility-scale solar project was commissioned in an astounding five months - well ahead of schedule, thus creating a new benchmark for the industry. The 50 MW solar project in the Jodhpur district was developed in three phases of 15 MW, 15 MW and 20 MW. It will generate total electricity of 90 million kWh units annually and supply clean energy to 25 million families. With the commissioning of this project, an estimated 83,220 million tonne of carbon dioxide emissions will be mitigated each year. Also, this project makes the company the largest solar power developer in India with over 300 MW solar and wind projects on the anvil.
