When you follow a pattern similar to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, you know you´re doing something right! Gujarat cadre IAS officer Hasmukh Adhia has been nominated as Director on the Central Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of India, replacing Gurdial Singh Sandhu. In the past, Adhia has worked as principal secretary to Modi in Gujarat and served as secretary, department of financial services in the Union Ministry of Finance. He has been involved in the finance and education departments in the Gujarat Government, apart from stints in the Gujarat Industrial Investment Corporation and Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation. And barely a few days into office, Adhia has encouraged financing for solar and non-conventional energy in 13 states as part of housing loans. A true all-rounder, it would appear, for the RBI; Hasmukh Adhia´s nomination certainly makes us smile!
