$10 bn investment in renewable projects

NTPC has committed to set up renewable power projects of 10,000 MW capacity, and will invest close to $10 bn for its execution over the next five years. As per estimates, building 1 MW of solar capacity requires Rs 6 crore. The company has floated Notice Inviting Tender for four solar projects of 250 MW each in Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Rajasthan and one 500 MW project in Andhra Pradesh.
