The central government recently inaugurated ABB's fully fledged multi-source microgrid. The multi-source microgrid supplied power to ABB's leading global customer fair, Automation and Power World (APW), held in New Delhi in November. Powered by solar and wind, the microgrid can generate up to 125 kVA – enough clean energy for around 4,000 rural households. It avoids production of more than 1,300 kg of CO2 emissions during the three-day APW event. The microgrid is equipped with a state-of-the-art battery bank for power storage and balancing, and can function independently or as a supplement to the main grid.
