AMPL invests Rs 408 cr on new plant

Ankit Metal and Power has invested Rs 408.45 crore in a new steel, pellet and power plant at Jorehira in Bankura district of West Bengal. The plant, expected to produce 45 MW of captive power, 0.6 mn tonne of pellet, 1 lakh tonne of wire rods and 30 TPD sponge iron, among other products, may begin operation by March-end. Coal India has agreed to supply coal required for the captive power plant, which is located close to the coal belt at Ranigunge.
