Amaravati buildings to be energy-efficient
In Amaravati, the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh, every multiplex, hospital, hotel and commercial buildings with plot area of more than 1,000 sq m and a built-up area of more than 2,000 sq m will have to mandatorily incorporate energy-efficient designs from the construction stage itself. Capital Region Development Authority is to work out the modalities and prepare a comprehensive report for ensuring all the government constructions in the capital city will be green buildings and energy-efficient ones. The British Government has agreed in principle to extend support for developing the Amaravati city using world-class engineering technologies and making the city pollution-free by adopting various scientifically researched methods available globally.
