BHEL commissions 500 MW thermal unit at Vindhyachal

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) commissioned a 500 MW coal-based power plant unit at Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station in Vindhyanagar, Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh. With the commissioning of this unit, BHEL has now commissioned seven sets of 500 MW each aggregating to 3500 MW, the highest by BHEL in a power project. BHEL´s scope of work in this project envisaged design, engineering, manufacture, supply and erection and commissioning of steam generator and steam turbine generator along with the associated auxiliaries and state of the art controls and instrumentation.

Welspun Renewables commissions Punjab´s largest solar project Welspun Renewables has set up its first solar power project - the Bhatinda 34 MW (DC), in Punjab. It will annually feed 48 mn units of clean and emission-free energy into the Punjab state grid for the next 25 years. Spread across 140 acre in the state´s Bhatinda district, in the next 25 years the project will have mitigated 1,331,525 tonne of Co2 emissions. The company is among the first few to set up a project in Punjab.
