BHEL wins Rs 3,700 cr order in Karnataka
Karnataka Power Corporation has awarded BHEL with a Rs 3,700 crore contract for setting up a 700 MW Bellary Thermal Power Station in Karnataka, on a turnkey basis. BHEL has commissioned about 5,000 MW of power generating sets in the state, that include thermal as well as hydro units of various ratings.
Further, the company is executing the 1,600 MW Yeramarus Supercritical TPS of Raichur Power Corporation (RPCL), a joint venture between KPCL and BHEL, which has been set up to build, own and operate supercritical thermal power plants in Karnataka. BHEL has established the capability to deliver 15,000 MW of power equipment per annum and further augmentation of 20,000 MW per annum is under way.
