In Andhra Pradesh, East Coast Energy is likely to resume work on its thermal power project in Srikakulam district in spite of stiff opposition from sections of local people and environmental activists. The company recently signed an agreement with the Central Power Distribution Company for the sale of 300 MW as soon as the power plant begins generation. Further, with the support of the Power Trading Corporation of India, the company will supply power to various organisations. It will, initially generate 1,320 MW.
