India-Bangladesh finalise deal on power link
India and Bangladesh power ministries finalised details for the 130-km power transmission link that would be established at a cost of Rs 882 crore. The transmission link is likely to be operational in two year time by July 2012. The central power utility Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd would invest Rs 178 crore while the remaining cost would come from Bangladesh. The transmission line would connect Behrampur in India and Behramara in Bangladesh.
